Saints Defeat Cardinals and Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

The Saints are back to .500 after beating the Cardinals yesterday afternoon 31-24. The Saints controlled the game for the most part, but not without the occassional turnover, sloppy drive and defensive lapse. Drew Brees was phenomenal, passing for 315 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Saints are holding onto their playoff hopes, in the middle of the wildcard race with a record of 7-7. Also, props to Aaron Stecker for running the ball extremely well, without the help of injured running backs, Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush.

The Giants, at 9-5, are basically a lock for the first wildcard position; but the 7-6 Vikings, 7-7 Saints, and 7-7 Redskins are all fighting for that last playoff spot. The Vikings play the Bears tonight on Monday Night Football, so put on your Saints hat, get to your favorite bar, and start rooting against those “Scandinavian seafaring worriers.”
